Morton General Hospital, Morton WA

Slim financial resources didn’t allow a replacement hospital at Morton; instead, the facility needed to be “replaced in place” on the site while maintaining operations. Our plan replaced 85% of the hospital in two phases, essentially creating additions at the perimeter of the facility, then demolishing the existing center and rebuilding that portion of the campus. Design reflects the site’s context and the community’s history as a prominent lumber community.

Specific departments include lab, imaging, emergency, waiting areas, medical records, dietary, general stores, laundry, surgery, central sterile, LDR, information systems, business office, outpatient clinic, pharmacy, and a new central plant
