"Enabling Community Resilience" Presentation by Steve Moddemeyer

On September 16, 2017, researchers, experts, practitioners and noted leaders in engineering, science, and medicine gathered at the Beckman Center in Irvine, California for a workshop titled The Role of Advanced Technologies in Structural Engineering for More Resilient Communities. The workshop was hosted by the National Academies pf Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine’s Resilient America Roundtable and the Board on Infrastructure and the Constructed Environment in collaboration with the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) SEI Advances in Information Technology Committee

CollinsWoerman Principal Steve Moddemeyer is a member of the Resilient America Roundtable and spoke on the topic “Reducing the Misery by Accelerating Recovery.” Additional presenters included Arrietta Chakos of Urban Resilience Strategies as moderator; Dr. Janice Barnes, Global Resilience Director for Perkins+Will; and Dr. Reggie DesRoches, Dean of Rice University’s George R. Brown School of Engineering.
