Lucia Athens is a sustainable development specialist with extensive public sector experience with the Cities of Austin and Seattle. Lucia led the City of Seattle’s green building program for 10 years, from its inception to a fully integrated technical assistance and green code development initiative. Lucia led development of the LEED 2.0 Site development standards on behalf of the US Green Building Council, and served on the team that developed the first Green Building Program in the nation for Austin, Texas.

Lucia has 10 years of experience leading the City of Seattle’s programs, policies, and code development to drive market transformation toward green buildings. Some of the initiatives developed during Lucia’s leadership work at the City include:
