Seattle Science Foundation named AIA Project of the Month

Designed by architecture, planning and interior design firm CollinsWoerman, the Seattle Science Foundation offers a virtual medical world, where doctors from around the world can meet to share technical knowledge, advancements in the medical field, and practical information. The building contains an advanced technological environment where people at the forefront of the medical field cam meet and interact. The center includes a theater for “cadaveric” operations and hands-on training, as well as a large classroom that allows visitors to view intricate procedures from suspended screens. The integrated telecommunications environment enables group interaction during intricate medical procedures.

CollinsWoerman team to plan Yesler Terrace redevelopment

The Seattle Housing Authority has chosen CollinsWoerman to lead planning efforts for the Yesler Terrace redevelopment. CollinsWoerman was one of 12 firms that submitted proposals. The firm gave a strong community involvement presentation and was the favorite among current Yesler Terrace residents.  Later this month, the planning team will begin work to create planning options based on community input.

Bastyr Center for Natural Health recognized by USGBC for high environmental standards

The Bastyr Center for Natural Health, designed by CollinsWoerman, has been awarded LEED-CI Certification by the U.S. Green Building Council. The center is the nation’s leading natural medicine academic institution and the largest natural health clinic in the Pacific Northwest. It achieved LEED Certification for material and energy use, as well as the sustainability of the interior design.

West Seattle’s Fauntleroy Place prepares to break ground

Designed by CollinsWoerman, BlueStar Management will break ground next month on Fauntleroy Place, a mixed-use project that includes 170 apartments and a Whole Foods Market. Developer Conner Homes will join CollinsWoerman and an increasing number of companies choosing to develop housing projects in West Seattle.

The Vineyards Resort Golf Course planned for 500 acres east of Yakima

CollinsWoerman is the chosen architect for The Vineyards Resort Golf Course, a 500-acre wine and golf community to be developed east of Yakima. Developer SBC plans to include an upscale village overlooking the golf course, along with a pro shop pavilion. Buildings will be designed with a Tuscan theme to evoke a feeling of the Italian wine region.

989elements part of John Su’s plan to redefine Bellevue

Designed by CollinsWoerman, the 23-story mixed-use residential tower 989elements is a key part of Su Development’s plan for the redefinition of downtown Bellevue. CollinsWoerman is also the architect of record for Elements Too, a 22-story residential tower and 13-story midrise planned on property adjacent to 989elements.
