CollinsWoerman worked with Harborview Medical Center to renovate two floors of the Norm Maleng Building into 40 new inpatient units and two floors of the Ninth and Jefferson Building into integrated specialty outpatient clinics. The CollinsWoerman team co-located on Harborview’s campus to lead and navigate the organization through design, construction, and entitlements. This is the first project of this size Harborview has completed in 20 years, setting the tone and standard for future projects on their campus. 

Harborview’s health system was operating over capacity so it was urgent they expand their single-bed capacity. CollinsWoerman was able to save six months in the design schedule while maintaining 24/7 operability and minimizing disruption to the existing floors.

The Harborview project aimed to achieve LEED® Gold.
